I absolutely cannot believe that we have been so busy that I've not been able to get this post done sooner. We found out this past Tuesday that we are having a girl and a boy!!!!
Our appointment was not until 5:00 pm and I have to say it seemed like the longest day. I was so excited to find out what gender our babies are. I think it is so cool that some people still choose to be surprised and find out when they are born whether it is a boy or girl. And part of me thinks it would be cool to do that. But the other part of me that is just too excited about planning for the arrival of a baby just takes over and demands to know. Ha!
With twins they name them Baby A and Baby B based on their positions.
Baby A is our girl and Baby B is our boy!
We are super excited about both of them!!
Here are some pics of them...
Our little girl!
She was being very photogenic for the ultrasound tech.
Our little boy!
You have to look closely to tell this is a pic of his profile...he wasn't being quite so photogenic.
We even got a couple of videos of the babies in motion...which I thought was pretty cool. However, our boys that is was super cool and wanted to watch over and over again.
Ryne would say, "watch baby sister" or "watch baby brother" and kept wanting me to show them to him again and again. I thought it was just precious!
Little girl video.
You can see her moving her head up and down.
Little boy video.
He moves his hands up and around his face. I think he is practicing karate or something already because he knows how tough his big brothers will expect him to be.
How did Kade and Ryne take the news that we were getting a boy and a girl?
Well, here's a video to show you...
I had to laugh because Ryne was more interested in letting Kyle know that he was watching Peter Pan. Kind of as if to say, "Dad, can't this wait? We are watching Peter Pan right now!"
If you see the look on Kade's face when he first hears the news you might wonder why he seems a bit sad. Well, he had been saying all along that he thought it was going to be one boy and one girl. But the day before we went to find out, he had decided that he really wanted to have two girls. His reasoning was because he needed two girls to help him learn how to be sweet. But ultimately I think you can tell that he is very happy to be having one girl and one boy!
And YES we have given them names!!!
Our little girl will be Tesa and our little boy will be Tyce!
Full names:
Tesa Mae Lewallen
(Mae was Kyle's Mawmaw's middle name. And we both just adored Mawmaw.)
Tyce Duane Lewallen
(Duane is Kyle's middle name.)
We determined with our first child that name picking was the hardest part of preparing for parenthood. We wanted our children to have names that weren't too common, but also weren't too weird. And with my being a school teacher and Kyle have done youth ministry, there were quite a few names that were just OUT because we had a kid with that name and it just didn't bring about good memories. Know what I mean?
Anyway, at this point, neither one of us know a Tesa or a Tyce. I'm sure that will change since we've now given those names to our children....happened with both Kade and Ryne....but we like them. And if you aren't too crazy about them yourselves, just don't tell us, we will never know!
A lot of other things happened last week and I do have pictures to prove it but you guys will have to wait to hear all about it. We did lose an hour of sleep last night to daylight savings time and I've gotten the most exciting part of our week covered now.
So, goodnight from Washington State...I'm taking Tesa and Tyce to bed now!
