A Fabulous Fourth

We had a wonderfully spectacular 4th of July here in DuPont, Washington.
Here is our family wishing you a great 4th of July....I totally took these pictures meaning to post them on Saturday and say "Happy 4th!" Obviously that didn't happen so here they are now:

Why in the world did I not get those pictures posted on Saturday?
Well....we were a bit busy!!
Had a big 4th of July celebration here in DuPont and our new church hosted a booth.
We passed out free bottles of water with our logo on them. It was perfect because it turned out to be a sweltering day!!! 90 degrees here in DuPont with about 1% humidity. It was unbearable...well, it was unbearable for these native northwesterners but us transplants were agreeing that it was the nicest 4th of July weather we had ever experienced. BUT...that hot, sun-shiny day payed off for our booth....EVERYBODY wanted nice cold FREE water. And many people came back for seconds and thirds. Along with the free water we also handed out helium balloons to the kiddos. They were a hit!!! There were blue Life Church balloons floating all over the place and it was really cool.
Check out some of the pictures from the day:

And this is our friend Debbie, whom we affectionately call "Little Debbie". She came wearing her horse costume and gave little kids rides. Her horse's name is Flicka and she was a hit.

There was also a balloon clown there who made animals out of balloons. Kyle had met him and wanted to hire him for the day but the city had already hired him to be there. So, Freddy G wanted to help us draw a crowd and set up his chair in the shade of our tent. The children were all lined up.

At the end of the day we had handed out hundreds of bottles of water and hundreds of balloons, had met lots of new people and answered lots of questions about our new church. It was a great day. A great big thank you to all of you who were praying for us.

We got done at the festival and made a quick trip to the grocery store. Had to get stocked up because later that evening Kyle headed to the airport to pick up this guy:

Yep, Brandon came to see us. And he brought his Mom and Dad and baby sister Taylor with him, too! Here Brandon and Kade are getting ready to go to bed. It was a late night and they were so excited to get to play together but we finally got them down. Check out the "pallet bed" that they made in Kade's room:

And they slept....that might be the last time that they slept! We have been hard at it since Sunday morning. We are having lots of fun with Uncle B, Aunt Kim, Brandon and Taylor. I've got lots of good pictures to share with you as soon as I get a chance. So....stay tuned!!!

GREAT pictures!!

And I about spit my soda when you were talking about the "sweltering 1% humidity." Those Washitonians don't know Arkansas summers, do they?!?!?

Looks like you had a great time!!!

God answered our prayers! I didn't think about Him making it 'hot' (relative term) there so many would come by to meet you, but He did. Enjoy your time w/ the Okies! I know they are loving the 'hot' summer weather and the time with their sweet family there. I love the pictures! Thanks for taking time to share.
